A co-op zombie survival game for 2 to 4 friends, on an always-on server.

The buses never came back.

Three weeks ago they evacuated the town. You missed the last bus, or you chose to stay. The people who stayed behind changed: they walk the streets now, slow by day, faster after dark, and they are hungry.

Scavenge, keep warm and fed, build a base before night falls, and hold it together.

Open it the first time

  1. Open the zip (it unpacks Zombies.app) and drag it to your Applications folder.
  2. Open Zombies. macOS says it couldn't verify it is free of malware (the game isn't signed with a paid Apple certificate): choose Done.
  3. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll down to "Zombies" was blocked and click Open Anyway, then Open Anyway again (with your password or Touch ID). macOS asks only this once.
  4. If macOS asks to let Zombies find devices on your local network, choose Allow.
  1. Right-click the zip and choose Extract All; keep zombies.exe and zombies.pck together in a folder of your own (not Program Files).
  2. Open zombies.exe. If Windows shows Windows protected your PC, click More info and then Run anyway (the game isn't signed with a paid certificate).
  3. If Windows asks about the firewall, allow private and public networks.
  1. Unpack it: tar -xzf zombies-linux.tar.gz in a folder of your own.
  2. Run ./zombies.x86_64.

Play

Join your friends
  1. Type your name.
  2. Press Play on vault-arcade.
  3. Pick a survivor. Everyone on vault-arcade shares the same town.

Updates

You only download once: the game checks for a new build every time it starts and updates itself.
